There was a weekend?
Dammit. I hate it when I miss one. ;-)
Friday night mom and I had dinner with my nephew and one of his buddies. They're in town working for a subcontractor who is doing work here for Landry's (they own more restaurants than you think).
Lee is 26 now. Bejezus that makes me feel old. He's never had much direction in life. High school drop-out. And oy, you should see his teeth. Disgusting and heartbreaking at the same time.
At heart I know he is a good kid. I just wish he could find himself. Everytime I see him, I nag about getting his GED. So I asked again on Friday. He told me he passed. I told him I was proud of him for following through.
His friend Ray seems like a good kid too (pretty cute too!). Level-headed. Well, except that he's 28 and working on his second divorce. Anyway, I hope he keeps Lee on the straight and narrow. I was glad to hear that he doesn't like Lee's girlfriend either.
Saturday I helped mom load cans into our cars to take in for recycling. She donates the money to the missionary league at the church. Unfortunately we got there too late and the line was too long (it was almost time for Antonio's ballgame). So now I have a car load of cans because I have a boat in my driveway and can't get to the garage (Duwayne's boat -- doesn't fit in his driveway).
Antonio pitched his first game. I thought he did a terrific job. He also received a gold award at school on Friday for what I guess is like his GPA. His lowest grade this year was a 93. If only he were nicer to his mom . . .
His sister had a game too, just in the evening (thank goodness, because his game at 11a was blazing hot). Her team won, so it was an exciting game. Gina got a couple of hits for RBIs. His season is over now, but she has a few more games.
Today I've mostly been at home working. I brought my laptop home to see if I could get a jump on this project I am working on. I need to merge 77 documents into one so I can make a table of contents. Thing is, there are a variety of sections and some of the same documents are in multiple sections. I'm at 254 pages now, with probably about 100 more needing adding. :-O
